Terms of service
The rules for using the runtime. Written to be read: short sections, plain words, and the parts that depend on your plan pointed out. Highlighted placeholders are to be completed by the site owner.
The agreement
These terms are a contract between you and Terrane ([legal form, registration number]). They apply as soon as you create an account or deploy a service. If you use the runtime on behalf of a company, you confirm that you may bind that company to these terms. Enterprise customers may have a signed agreement that overrides them; where the two differ, the signed agreement wins.
The service
Terrane provides a runtime for deploying and operating inference workloads, APIs and backend services across the regions listed on the features page. What the runtime does, and what it deliberately does not do, is described on the security page. We may change or retire features; when a change removes something you rely on, we give at least [90 days] notice.
Accounts
You need an account to use the runtime. You are responsible for keeping your credentials and API tokens confidential and for everything done with them. Tell us at hello@terrane.example as soon as you suspect unauthorised use. You must be at least 18 years old to open an account.
Acceptable use
You may not use the runtime to:
- break the law, or help someone else break it;
- process data you do not have the right to process, including personal data without a lawful basis;
- attack, probe or overload systems that are not yours, including ours;
- resell access to the runtime as such, without adding a product of your own;
- work around usage limits, region pins or billing.
We may suspend a deployment that is causing harm to others or to the platform. We tell you why, and we lift the suspension as soon as the cause is removed.
Fees and billing
Plans, included capacity and per-unit rates are published on the pricing page. Usage is measured in GPU-hours and CPU-hours per hardware tier and billed monthly in arrears; annual plans are billed in advance. Prices exclude taxes. Invoices are due within [30 days]. Unpaid accounts may be limited after notice. The free tier costs nothing and carries no obligation to upgrade.
Availability and support
Availability targets and support channels depend on your plan and are listed on the pricing page. Where a plan carries a service level, the credits for missing it are described in [the service level agreement]. Scheduled maintenance is announced in advance and does not count against availability.
Your data
Everything you deploy and every request your services handle is yours. We process it only to run the service, in the regions you select, and we never train on it. Our obligations as a processor are set out in the [data processing agreement], available on request. How this website handles personal data is a separate matter, covered by the privacy policy.
Intellectual property
The runtime, its interfaces, documentation and brand belong to Terrane. You receive a limited, non-exclusive right to use them for as long as your account is in good standing. Your models, code and content remain yours. Feedback you give us may be used to improve the service without obligation.
Liability
The runtime is provided as described, and we are liable for the commitments we make in these terms and in your plan. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect losses, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Termination
You can close your account at any time; deployments are stopped and data is deleted within [30 days], or exported first if you ask. We may terminate for a material breach that is not fixed within 30 days of notice, or immediately for a serious violation of acceptable use. Fees already due remain payable.
Changes
We may update these terms. Changes that reduce your rights are announced at least 30 days in advance by email and on this page. Continuing to use the runtime after that date means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction]. Disputes are brought before the courts of [city], unless mandatory consumer law gives you another forum.
